As owners of cockatiels and earlier in our lives an African Grey we can attest to the fact that they really love to chew on things. Although cockatiels and other smaller pet birds are less inclined to chew furniture, bigger parrots certainly do.

Provide them with a handmade or store bought bird tree and you will see a vast improvement in your birds behavior. Pet bird care also involves giving your bird enough things to play with safely without risk to their safety. Bird owners are usually worried whether something is safe or not and therefore you are always well advised to go with a store bought bird toy opposed to doing it yourself - unless you are familiar with pet birds.

Bird toys also involve ladders, rings, swings, bird trees and mobiles. The idea is to create a peaceful and safe environment to make your pet feel right at home.
